I believe in resurrection and the possibility of new life. I believe it will be better than we are able to imagine in the middle of the desert, where survival was the best we could hope for.
Resurrection in the Midst of Lent
Resurrection occurs everyday. Have you seen it? You have to look for it.
Lent
Dry spells are a part of life. Being able to name them and make them holy, well that is a helpful thing. But what do you do when your life feels like Easter when the church is celebrating Lent?
Religion as Resistance
There is power is being a religion of resistance. A religion where the faithful are willing to go against the authorities because of their beliefs: they’re willing to risk death. We’ve lost that in Christianity.
Failures of Imagination
It seems to me that we suffer, individually and collectively, from frequent failures of imagination. If we can’t imagine it, how do we keep from getting stuck? If we can’t imagine it, how can we help God work towards it?
Ridiculous Promises
I want to have faith in the crazy things, in the miracles, and in the no-way-possibilities. I want to see beauty and hope where other people see only brokenness and stagnation. And I want to point out the beauty and hope to others when they get lost.
